In 1981, after having been the A&R-Director at WEA Music Germany for 10
years, Killy Kumberger left his position to set up his own label, Repertoire
Records. In 1988 Thomas Neelsen, a dedicated record-collector and musician,
joined Repertoire Records as partner. Together, both men developed the
label's concept around the slogan: Into The Future With The Past.
This approach led the then small venture to become one of Europe's biggest
reissue labels and licensing sources for popular music from the last 40 years.
Their reissue program concentrates on best quality and faithful reproduction
of the original album's artwork. Most releases come with (up to 15!) bonus
tracks, many of which have never before been available on CD. And this
attention to detail has paid off - more and more of the original artists
take part in our re-issues, adding their input and ideas to the liner
notes and designs, contributing photos from their private archives and
often giving new insights into now familiar tracks. Repertoire Records
covers many different styles that were once important and have found new
relevance today: from Procol Harum to Stone the Crows, from
the Yardbirds to Rose Tattoo, from the Equals to
John Entwistle and Roger Daltrey, from the German Krautrock
scene to the British-Invasion - they recognize few borders! And their
critically acclaimed Popumentary-Series with detail-rich
booklets are enjoying cult status. But enough words. The
Repertoire-program speaks for itself. We hope you will enjoy looking through
their back-catalogue and will be tempted to discover and select some of
the fine music they have to offer.
